Raffle Winner Congratulations to Mary Ewing of Lancaster. Mary was the winner of the Ed Kitchen print entitled "Mardi Gras Parade" which was recently raffled by Faith in Action. Mary also received a $50 gift certificate from Studio B. Thanks to Studio B and to Ed Kitchen for their generous donations to Faith in Action and thanks to everyone who participated in the raffle. First Baptist Church Assists Faith in Action On Saturday, May 29, several members of the First Baptist Church of Lancaster rolled up their sleeves to assist Faith in Action. They helped care recipients with yard work, household chores, transportation and companionship. Thanks to these caring individuals and to Melissa Poulan for organizing the event.
Disciples at Work A group of young people from the First United Methodist Church in Lancaster gave up their President's Day holiday to help a needy cause. Under the direction of Janetta Hussey, the Disciples at Work spent the morning folding and addressing newsletters for Faith in Action--Fairfield County. The group is very active in Lancaster, volunteering their time with a different community service project each month. When Ms. Hussey read about Faith in Action--Fairfield County in a local newsletter, she called to offer their services. The group of 5th and 6th graders, including Ashleigh Bope, Samantha Slater, Kevin Brown, Garrett Warner, and Sam Young did a great job preparing more than 350 newsletters for mailing. Many thanks to these faithful students who volunteer their talents to help others! |
