Our MissionThrough the Faith in Action-Fairfield County program, interfaith volunteers will provide compassionate care and services to the elderly and disabled, assisting them to remain independent and in their own homes.
History of Faith in Action-Fairfield CountyStarting in 1983 with the Interfaith Volunteer Caregivers Program, and continuing in 1993 with the introduction of Faith in Actionâ, The Robert Wood Johnson Foundation has supported faith-based community efforts to help meet the challenge of providing in-home services to the frail elderly and disabled with volunteer caregivers. The idea for Faith in Action-Fairfield County was originated in 2002 by a coalition of faith-based and service organizations who recognized the need for voluntary care services in our community. In August, 2003, the group received a grant from The Robert Wood Johnson Foundation, and Faith in Action-Fairfield County was created. Based on the ideal of neighbors helping neighbors, volunteers provides in-home compassionate care to the elderly and disabled of Fairfield County. Faith in Action-Fairfield County is locally hosted by FairHoPe Hospice & Palliative Care, Inc.
